Patch Week is always the second Tuesday of the month and may include Windows, Microsoft and other third party software updates.
Please
be sure to give yourself extra time for start up and shut down for the
entirety of Patch Week and restart your computer regularly. You'll need to be connected to power when installing and restarting.
Never
force your computer to shut down by holding down the power button when
it is in the midst of restart or installing updates - this can damage
your operating system and may require the re-installation of Windows.
If
you are experiencing slow or laggy performance, or hardware isn't
functioning as it should, please close all programs and make sure your
device is connected to power and internet and restart. Be patient.
Patch Week updates are often cumulative updates and can take a
significant amount of time to download and install fully. Do not be
alarmed if your computer seems "stuck" on a blue or black screen for
awhile, this is normal and part of the patch process.
