Cornell Alumna Grace Brandon, Manager, Global
Infrastructure, with Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC), explains how
investments in renewable energy infrastructure have become such a critical
component of their strategy. Grace notes how our current energy system is
on the decline, due to ageing infrastructure, cyber security threats, and
increasing major weather events. As such, there is a great need for
highly resilient and reliable energy infrastructure, such as micro grids,
battery storage and district energy facilities. Wind and solar energy
capacity are forecasted to double over the next ten years, offering investment
opportunities to roll out significant amounts of new infrastructure.
