Esther Akapo is a junior in the College of Human Ecology majoring in Global and Public Health Sciences with minors in Health Equity and Healthcare Policy. She is interested in the inequities in the healthcare system, the social determinants of health, and the ways in which health systems and healthcare providers could address the health disparities in marginalized populations. Through the Cornell Cooperative Extension Program in NYC, Esther served as a CHAT (Choose Health Action Teen) Intern in the summer of 2021 and was able to mentor teens and teach children nutrition content at a school in Queens, New York.
