Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, focuses on the role of higher education in
infrastructure delivery.
Ray points out that higher education has an enormous
opportunity and a bright future with regards to infrastructure education. While there are government agencies and trade
associations who try to provide professional education, the new ways of
developing and financing infrastructure are rapidly changing. Ray believes Cornell can play an incredible
role in continuing to raise the level of awareness of the different forms of
procurement while bridging the misunderstanding gaps about financing,
contracting, and risks.
Ray concludes by saying that the Cornell Program in
Infrastructure Policy helps both the private and public sectors to better
understand how infrastructure can be most cost effectively developed.
