"Thought Leaders on Infrastructure" video series --
In this video, CPIP Associate Director H. Oliver Gao,
Ph.D., explains how infrastructure can not only improve lives, but can also
cause adverse impacts to health. He emphasizes the need to mitigate
negative impacts, such as combustion engine emissions, which kill more people
per annum than motor vehicle accidents. Although changes in technology
and human behavior will help us to solve these problems, policy makers need to
be aware of health considerations when approving infrastructure projects.
