Characterizing
grape fruit quality in Germplasm: the good,
the bad, and the weird
Abstract
Erin Galarneau is the grapevine curator
for the cold hardy grapevine collection in Geneva, NY. She works for the Plant
Genetic Resources Unit, which is a part of the National Plant Germplasm System.
She completed her undergraduate degree in biology from Northland College in
Wisconsin and her Ph.D. from the University of California Davis in Plant
Pathology.
Her
previous work was on grapevine focused on plant-pathogen interactions,
specifically metabolite responses to various pathogens in diverse backgrounds.
She now focuses on grapevine diversity, including pathogen resistance, fruit
quality, and cold hardiness in over 20 species of grapevine.
