Shruti Kanna is a junior in the College of Human Ecology majoring in Global and Public Health Sciences with a minor in Public Policy. She is most passionate about the intersection of health and government and aspires to use an academic and professional background in public health and medicine to contribute to developing evidence-based health policies that address social needs and work to eliminate health disparities in the United States. In the summer of 2020, Shruti interned as a research assistant for the Ambulatory Care and Population Health Departments at Lincoln Hospital, an New York City (NYC) Health + Hospitals public hospital in the Bronx, performing statistical analysis for the hospital’s pilot social needs screening and referral program.
