Deepen Classroom Connections through Emotional Literacy Activities
Presented by: Lisa Hunt, High5 Adventure Learning Center
This interactive and engaging workshop is intended for any teacher, counselor or facilitator who is in a position to deepen connections with their groups and expand their toolkit for talking about emotions. All of the experiential activities covered in this session - from group problem solving to quick check ins and reflection tools - are staples of High 5’s Edge of Leadership program, allowing the facilitators to share variations, tips and strategies. Much of the foundation for these activities is built upon the research of Marc Brackett and his concept called the Mood Meter. Participants will learn about this tool and where to access more information on it’s supporting research. All activities in this session will be relevant to both in-person and virtual group/class work. We welcome those educators invested in building connections and social-emotional skills to join us for this workshop!
