From their arrival in 1962 until their graduation, the Class of 1966 attended Cornell University during a time of great transition, both on and off campus. Curators from Cornell University Library’s Rare and Distinctive Collections (RAD) welcome you to join them for a presentation featuring items of historical importance that document the unique environment that fell between the relative reserved calm of the post-World War II 1950s and the dynamic and vocal cultural changes of the late 1960s.
Highlighted RAD items and discussion will evoke memories from campus experiences such as the inauguration of President Perkins and shifts regarding “in loco parentis”, to broader U.S. and Global events of the time, like Voting Rights and the Vietnam War.
