The Becoming Big Red: Cornell Family Orientation Conversation Series is hosted by the Cornell University Office of Parent & Family Programs. Our topic is First in the Family: First-Generation Faculty, Staff, and Student Panel. Joined by Dannemart Pierre, Associate Dean of Students, Tristan Ivory, Assistant Professor of Global Labor within the College of ILR, Raymond Craib, Marie Underhill Noll Professor of History within the College of Arts and Sciences, as well as Jason Xiong and Isabela Ticona, first generation students at Cornell. They provided their advice to new families of first-generation students on the transition to college, how to stay in touch, move-in and budgeting.
